• More switches or devices can be added without redesigning the whole network

• Issues can be isolated to a specific branch.

Why Star Topology? (Used in Access Layers)

        1. Simplicity and Easy Management

• Simple to manage connections
• Easy to add or remove devices without affecting the whole network

        2. High Performance

• Each connection to the central switch is isolated which prevents data collision

        3. Scalability

• Can easily add more devices to the network for future use.

        4. Fault Isolation

• If one device fails, it does not affect other devices in the network.
